Paternity Attorney in Coral Gables, Florida
When Parents Are Not Married at Time of Child's Birth
Our attorneys handle paternity cases, which are cases where a child has been born to parents who were not married to each other at the time of the birth. This type of action is generally filed on behalf of a mother, to legally establish the financial obligations of the father to support a child, or on behalf of the father, to establish his rights as the father of a child. Paternity actions will include a Parenting Plan for both parents to follow and will determine the amount of child support to be paid by one parent to the other. We are always mindful of the sensitive nature of paternity actions, so settlement negotiations are handled in a respectful, appropriate and private manner. We highly recommend to our clients that they use the Collaborative Process to resolve their paternity matter so the details can be kept private.
